The House of Representatives voted into legislation an amendment to the Paid Annual Leave Law, Law 8/1967 (the “Law”). The legalisation came into effect on publication in the Government Gazette on the 13.4.2023.
The amendment effectively allows employees to take paid annual leave from the first day of their employment. Previously an employee was required to complete 13 weeks of continuous employment with the same employer before being entitled to annual leave.
